Latin America & Human Rights

In this continent, our advocacy efforts are mostly devoted to monitor the deplorable human rights situation in Colombia due to the 50-year long internal conflict. In particular, we support grassroots Franciscans in their work with internally displaced persons. We pay also attention to the conditions of extreme poverty in which many indigenous communities live in Central and South America, especially in Honduras. We also continue to offer our solidarity to the landless movement in Brazil in order to achieve a fair agrarian reform and a just redistribution of land.
