Franciscans International continues to advocate
for the Right to Development as a universal, indivisible human right.
Franciscans International has followed the last session of the
Working Group on the Right to Development (February 2003) and it
will monitor the end of its deliberations during the Commission.
We renew our commitment to promote the process leading to the implementation
of the right to development as a universal, indivisible human right.
Specifically, FI will support the proposal that the Working Group
consider a number of country specific situations, particularly best
practices of both donor and recipient countries, in order to permit
a concrete discussion of practical policies and activities in support
of the right to development.
New Horizons Franciscans International inaugurates its third office in Bangkok, Thailand. The office will serve the needs of the Franciscan Family working at the grassroots in the Asia-Pacific.
