Deepening Knowledge in Human Rights Advocacy

The highest-level decision making body for international human rights policy and practice, the Commission is a unique time for Franciscan participation in the United Nations system, both in advocacy and formation.
(Background)

Advocacy

During the Commission, FI joins together with Franciscan brothers and sisters from the developing world, to advocate for the rights of the poor and marginalized in key areas of concern at the country and thematic levels.
(Our Issues)

Formation

Franciscan brothers and sisters who participate in the Commission not only provide first-hand testimony of human rights situations in their countries, but also develop skills in international human rights advocacy.
