1500 elementary school children had an exhibition of their art work on peace on Sunday, September 19th at Plaza San Francisco in the city of Our Lady of Peace, where they received prizes for their work. Musubi Dojo
Musubi Dojo is a martial arts school dedicated to the practice of Aikido (Way of Peace). Inspired by Franciscans International, Musubi Dojo held an interfaith observance in which local religious leaders of the Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Buddhist faith lead the community in silent reflections based on the holy text of each traditions. provided by Amnesty International were brought to the altar and placed
next to the candles representing Love, Justice, and Peace. During the day sisters were given an opportunity to sign a letter to the President

The list of activities planned by the FCSC at the St. Bonaventure University campus to observe the International Peace Day include a 24-Hour Prayer Chain from 12:01 am to 12:00 am on Sep. 21st., during which prayers can be expressed in any form ranging from singing or playing music to meditation; Peace Pole Rededication will take place from 12:35-12:55, and Mass for Peace to be held in the University Chapel (Doyle Hall) at 5:00 pm. Cards with the Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi will be distributed throughout the day and will be available at Thomas Merton Center, the FCSC center, Friedsam Memorial Library, and the Reilly Center.
