Franciscans International’s primary goal is to assist the poor
and oppressed, together with our Franciscan brothers and sisters who work
among them by voicing their demands at the United Nations. During the 2003
session of the UN Commission on Human Rights (CHR), our advocacy efforts
will, therefore, focus on country situations (Colombia, Indonesia, Pakistan)
and on global thematic topics (right to development, religious freedom, contemporary
forms of slavery, human trafficking, migration) in response to Franciscans’
requests to intervene on such critical issues.
