International Peace Day Prayer

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Each year people everywhere are invited to celebrate the International Peace Day on September 21, and the International Day of Non-violence on October 2.

Inspired by the message of Francis and Claire of Assisi, we urge everyone who believes that men and women are spiritual beings whose purpose is to unfold the message of the divine power, to accomplish a small or big action of peace. We ask everyone to celebrate these two important days by promoting peace through non violence, as Mahatma Gandhi taught us.

Indeed we know that hoping for peace is not enough, nor is enough trying to build it upin ambiguous ways. Non violece can help eradicate fears and lessen the tendency to search revenge. the principle of non- violence always works towards peaceful outcomes"
