Guiding Principles on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights

Franciscans International is part of a group of NGO who actively support the adoption of a set of UN Guiding Principles on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights. The drafting  of this document is currently on the agenda of the UN Human Rights Council, in view of its adoption by 2012. The Guiding Principles can become a milestone in the history of global efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. It would be the first international instrument aiming at  fostering the implementation of human rights in the context of extreme poverty.
