Franciscans International is proud to announce the opening of its third office in Bangkok, Thailand. The office will serve the needs of the Franciscan Family working at the grassroots in the Asia-Pacific. The Bangkok office was inaugurated on 2nd March, in a ceremony attended by 70 guests, |
including international dignitaries and Franciscans from the region. Following the opening, 31 Franciscans participated in a week-long training program that introduced them to the UN Human Rights system. |

Europe Franciscan Nobel Peace Prize nominee dies Fr Maximillian Mizzi, founder of the International Franciscan Centre for Dialogue (CEFID) died on March 3rd, aged 77. His efforts for ecumenism and peace were recognized internationally; earning him a Nobel Peace Prize nomination in 1999.More news from Europe: Circles of Silence Created by the Franciscan family of Toulouse, "Circles of Silence" is an initiative to mobilise support for the plight of undocumented migrants. |
