This training is an introductory course on a human rights approach to programming and advocacy. It introduces the various mechanisms of the UN in a way that makes them accessible to Franciscans, and other partner groups, working at the grassroots across the Asia Pacific. It aims at increasing the capacity of the participants by education and skill building in the area of human rights advocacy. During the training the participants are asked to translate their learning into an action plan suitable for implementation in their own context. Previous participants have been able to use their enhanced skills directly at the UN for the benefit of those with whom they work, while others have focused on advocacy education in human rights at the local and national levels.
